UN's "Peacekeeping" Mission
TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS

Late last month, the UN Security Council agreed to extend its peacekeeping mission in the divided island of Cyprus for another year. While the Turkish Cypriots have called it a 'repeated mistake', they also criticized the UN for not seeking the country's approval. Türkiye also voiced support for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, calling the approach 'far from being fair'.

The Cyprus Conflict
TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS

In an exclusive interview, the Foreign Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Tahsin Ertugruloglu, discussed the ongoing conflict in Cyprus. According to Ertugruloglu, the root of the problem is the fact that the TRNC is often mistaken for a secessionist minority, rather than being recognized as a sovereign entity with equal rights.

Cold War Bunkers
ALBANIA

Albania was, for decades, one of the most heavily armed countries in the world. Throughout the Cold War, the Communist state was preparing for a war that never came. Nearly 175.000 bunkers were built across the country, but none of them ever saw any combat. Instead, today, most have been converted into hostels, homes, and museums.
